It all started with a photograph
A picture of my father holding my older brother in his New York apartment in 1962 became the inspiration behind conVIDA Cocktail Lounge.
Today, that vision lives on in Puerto Rico’s first and only gin lounge, proudly woman-owned, small-business certified, and recently voted Best Cocktail Bar in Caguas 2024 – People’s Choice.
At conVIDA, we celebrate the golden age of cocktail culture. Why vintage glassware? Serving gin cocktails in vintage glassware adds a unique touch to our mid-century gin bar and enhance the overall experience for our guests. Vintage glassware from the mid-century era often has a distinct design and style that complements the atmosphere of conVIDA. Using vintage glassware evokes a sense of nostalgia and make guests feel as though they've stepped back in time. Some of our pieces are rare and valuable. Maybe you can sip in style from one of my Culvert & Libbey glassware from the 50s & 60s.

Much of the space is the work of local designer Raizaliz Hernández, inspired by the Atomic Era. The atomic era, roughly spanning the 1950s and early 1960s, was characterized by a fascination with atomic energy and outer space. This fascination was reflected in popular culture and design, with atomic and space-inspired motifs appearing in fashion, architecture, and interior design.
